Circular No. 2925 Central Bureau for Astronomical Telegrams INTERNATIONAL ASTRONOMICAL UNION Postal Address: Central Bureau for Astronomical Telegrams Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, Cambridge, MA 02138, U.S.A. Cable Address: SATELLITES, NEWYORK Western Union: RAPID SATELLITE CAMBMASS X-RAY BURSTS D. Hearn and the SAS-3 Group, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, reports an improved position for MXB1730-335: R.A = 17h30m.2, Decl. = -33o25' (equinox 1950.0; l = 354o.80, b = -0o.22). The radius of the error circle is 4'. SAS-3 observations are continuing. V. A. Hughes and M. R. Viner, Queen's University at Kingston, Ontario; and F. Argyle and P. Feldman, Herzberg Institute for Astrophysics, report that no radio pulses have been observed in an attempt to obtain a correlation with x-ray bursts from the galactic center. The relevant data are: 46-m telescope, Algonquin Radio Observatory, wavelength 9.4 cm, half-power beam width 9', Mar. 2 and 4, observations for 6 min (time constant 1s) at each of nine points given by R.A. = 17h30m.28 +/- 0m.48, Decl. = -33o26' +/- 6' (equinox 1950.0), upper limit to flux density 1.14 Jy, corresponding to 6 times the rms noise; 24-m telescope, Dominion Radio Astrophysical Observatory, wavelength 21 cm, half-power beam width 36', Mar. 1-3, total of 8.5 hr observing (time constant 0s.1) at R.A. = 17h42m.1, Decl. = -29o28' (equinox 1950.0) and Mar. 2, 0.5 hr observing at R.A. = 17h30m.09, Decl. = -33o45' (equinox 1950.0), upper limit to flux density 5 Jy. A1745-36 P. Davison, J. Burnell and J. Ives, Mullard Space Science Laboratory; and A. Wilson and G. Carpenter, University of Birmingham, report the discovery of a new x-ray source designated A1745-36 at R.A. = 17h44m.9, Decl. = -36o07' (equinox 1950.0). The uncertainty in position is about 2'. The source became visible on Feb. 29.8 UT, and the maximum count rate observed is about 250 Uhuru cts/s. COMET BRADFIELD (1976a) T. Seki, Geisei, provides the following precise positions: 1976 UT R.
