Circular No. 3760 Central Bureau for Astronomical Telegrams INTERNATIONAL ASTRONOMICAL UNION Postal Address: Central Bureau for Astronomical Telegrams Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, Cambridge, MA 02138, U.S.A. TWX 710-320-6842 ASTROGRAM CAM Telephone 617-864-5758 PROBABLE NOVA IN M31 J. Bryan, Austin, Texas, reports the discovery by M. Brewster and himself of a probable nova in M31. The object was recorded on 1982 Dec. 16.2 UT at mag ~ 17.2 and confirmed an hour later. It is located at R.A. = 0h39m34s, Decl. = +40deg45'05" (equinox 1950.0), between the Hodge dust clouds D-298 and D-267. 1982 YA F. Dossin, Institut d'Astrophysique, Liege, provides the following precise positions of the object reported on IAUC 3758. G. Sause assisted with the observations (at Haute Provence). 1982 UT R.A.
