Circular No. 3907 Central Bureau for Astronomical Telegrams INTERNATIONAL ASTRONOMICAL UNION Postal Address: Central Bureau for Astronomical Telegrams Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, Cambridge, MA 02138, U.S.A. TWX 710-320-6842 ASTROGRAM CAM Telephone 617-864-5758 COMET BRADFIELD William A. Bradfield, Dernancourt, near Adelaide, reports the discovery of his twelfth comet as shown below. The object is diffuse without condensation, and nothing was reported about a tail. 1984 UT R.A. (1950.0) Decl. m1 Jan. 7.733 15 51.6 -46 47 11 8.729 15 55.7 -47 33 11 SUPERNOVA IN NGC 4419 E. P. Aksenov, Sternberg Astronomical Institute, cables that G. N. Kimeridze, Abastumani Observatory, discovered a supernova 5" east and 25" north of the nucleus of NGC 4419 (R.A. = 12h24m4, Decl. = +15deg19'; equinox 1950.0) and of mpv = 16 on Jan. 4.096 UT. 2CG 195+04 = 'GEMINGA' J. P. Halpern, California Institute of Technology; J. E. Grindlay, Center for Astrophysics; and G. F. Bignami and P. A. Caraveo, IFC/CNR Milan, report that measurement of a CCD image obtained at the prime focus of the 5-m telescope by J. Kristian and J. Mould on 1983 Nov. 3 yields the position R.A. = 6h30m59s37, Decl. = +17deg48'30"2 (uncertainty +/- 0"5, equinox 1950.0). Reexamination of the CFHT CCD image of 1983 Apr. 15 gives a position that is consistent within the quoted error; the position reported by Lecacheux et al. (IAUC 3892) appears to be incorrect. Photometry with the Palomar 1.5-m telescope gives V = 21.0 +/- 0.2, B-V = +0.7, V-R = +0.8, in agreement with estimates by Caraveo et al. (1984, Ap.J. Lett. Jan. 15) based on the CFHT images.
