Bondal, Uttar Pradesh State Observatory, reports that spectra obtained with the 1-m reflector at Naini Tal on Nov. 22.6, 23.6, and 24.6 UT, using a Hilger and Watts spectrum scanner ( resolution 0.9 nm), reveal tentative identification of the following emission features: CN (1-0) 358-nm, CN (0-0) 388-nm, CH (0-0) + CE 405-nm, CN (0-1) 420-nm, C2 (2-0) + CH (0-0) 435-nm, C2 (1-0) 470- nm, C2 (0-0) 516-nm, C2 (0-1) 564-nm, C2 (0-2) 619-nm and Na 589-nm. Total visual magnitude estimates: Nov. 18.11 UT, 7.5 (C. S. Morris, near Mt. Wilson, CA, 20x80 binoculars); Dec. 1.08, 6.3 (C. Spratt, Victoria, BC, 0.20-m reflector); 1.74, 7.1 (J.-C. Merlin, Le Creusot, France, 0.15-m reflector); 2.73, 7.6 (Merlin); 4.73, 7.8 (Merlin). KR AURIGAE R. Ducoty, Capitola, CA, writes that KR Aur has gone into a low state, as indicated by his visual magnitude estimates: Sept. 11.50 UT, 13.3; Nov. 7.44, 15.0; Dec. 8.39, 14.9. PERIODIC COMET HALLEY (1982i) A. Tokunaga reports the following infrared magnitudes obtained by W. Golisch and himself with the NASA Infrared Telescope Facility at Mauna Kea on Nov. 28 (the 7"3 aperture was centered on the comet nucleus): M = 5.9, [8.7 microns] = 1.3, N = 0.5, Q = -1.7. The errors were +/- 0.1 mag for M and < 0.05 mag for the other magnitudes. The color temperature of the thermal emission was 260 K. COMET THIELE (1985m) Total visual magnitude estimates: Nov. 9.01 UT, 7.7 (J. E. Bortle, Stormville, NY, 10x50 binoculars); 9.16, 8.1 (C. Spratt, Victoria, BC, 0.20-m reflector); 10.85, 8.1 (J.-C. Merlin, Le Creusot, France, 0.15-m reflector); 11.11, 8.0 (Spratt, 0.08-m refractor); 12.15, 7.9 (Spratt, 11x80 binoculars); 13.14, 7.9 (Spratt, 11x80 binoculars); 13.23, 8.0 (A. Hale, Whitaker Peak, CA, 10x50 binoculars); 14.81, 7.8 (Merlin); 18.28, 8.0 (C. S. Morris, near Mt. Wilson, CA, 20x80 binoculars); Dec. 1.10, 8.5 (Spratt, 0.20-m reflector); 1.76, 9.0 (Merlin, 0.40-m reflector); 2.76, 9.1 (Merlin); 4.75, 9.1 (Merlin). 1985 December 13 (4150) Daniel W. E. Green
