Smith, on behalf of the Voyager Imaging Science Team, reports the discovery of six more new satellites of Uranus. Revolution periods P (in hr), orbital semimajor axes a (in km) and estimated satellite radii R (in km) are as follows: Object P a R Object P a R 1986 U1 12.32 66 090 50 1986 U4 13.41 69 920 30 1986 U2 11.83 64 350 40 1986 U5 14.93 75 100 30 1986 U3 11.13 61 750 40 1986 U6 11.39 62 700 30 Discovery dates were Jan. 3 for 1986 U1 and U2, Jan. 9 for 1986 U3 and Jan. 13 for the remainder. For 1985 U1 (IAUC 4159; discovered 1985 Dec. 30) P = 18.284 hr, and refinements yield a = 85 980 km. R LEONIS A. M. le Squeren and P. Sivagnanam, Observatoire de Paris, Meudon, telex: "Using the Nancay radio telescope, we have detected an unusual intensity variation of the emission from the Mira-type variable R Leo since 1981. A strong feature at 1665 MHz, without the OH 1667-MHz counterpart, was suddenly detected in 1985 Sept. This feature is circularly polarized, and its velocity is not very different (within ~ 1 km/s) from the stellar velocity measured from the thermal molecular line. Its intensity has decreased by a factor of nearly ten in three months. This is the first instance of a sudden, strong OH variation during monitoring of 15 Mira-type stars. Observations in the infrared and other maser lines should be useful to explore the strange behavior of R Leo."
