Janot-Pacheco, Instituto Astronomico e Geofisico, Universidade de Sao Paulo, report: "Spectroscopic observations of the Be star zeta Oph on June 9 and 10 in the Laboratorio Nacional de Astrofisica's 1.60-m reflector (coude focus + CCD) reveal no more sign of the emission in H alpha and He I 667.8 nm detected by Kambe et al. on May 9 and 15 (cf. IAUC 5015). Spectra taken at approximately 10-min intervals show the well-known moving bumps in the He I line of this star. The absence of emission suggests that this rapid variability is due to the central star." COMET CERNIS-KIUCHI-NAKAMURA (1990b) Ephemeris extension from the orbital elements on MPC 16551: 1990 ET R.A.
